Pura Vida Bracelets

As you may know, or not know, I have been working hard for the past two years on my modeling career. This can be hard since I am a full time student and work, however, I have decided to make modeling a priority in my life and not stop until I have accomplished what I set out to do. I get backlash from people who say that I’ll never make it or that I’m just an “Instagram model”, but what I’m doing is bigger than just me. I am trying to change the modeling industry and promote woman empowerment through all different races, sizes, and height. I could go on and on about my mission and purpose, but I will let you read the post “My Story.” in the modeling section of my blog for more information on that.

I truly believe social media can be used for a good purpose, however, it can also be used with bad intentions. I have set out to use my social media platforms to promote self-love and remind everyone of how special they are. This being said, I use my Instagram and Facebook half for life updates and the other half to show my art through modeling to the world. When I first began uploading modeling photos, I felt foolish posting photos of just myself and worried about what other’s thought about my appearance. I was quickly reminded by my friends and family why I was doing this and pushed through my fear of backlash. It wasn’t until a couple months of posting that I began to hear from brands and companies. People in charge of marketing and ambassador programs reached out via direct message on Instagram taking interest in how we could partner together. This was just the beginning. A couple weeks ago, I got a message on Instagram from @puravidabracelets from Diana who is part of their Social Media team. She wrote me wondering if I’d be interested in receiving a care package from them. I emailed her right away saying I was more than happy to receive a care package and partner with them. But I wanted it to be special and scenic. We made a plan and drove up to Yosemite before the sun rose to get the best shots. The view was absolutely breath taking. Standing at the edge of the cliff, you could see the sun creeping up the back of half dome while listening to the gust of the waterfalls flowing. Sand Cloud

Brand ambassador alert! Here is another post on a brand I love with an incredible mission and product. Serengetee (Part II)

I have already gone into detail in my other post “Serengetee” about this brand’s mission and history as well as my story of joining the company as a brand ambassador so I just wanted to give you a little update on what I am doing now.

My term as a campus brand ambassador has sadly ended. I was going to apply to be a leader for this next semester but I felt that studying abroad might make this job more difficult and when I begin something, I want to give it my all. However, I might apply to be a leader in the spring semester so we’ll see! So when you’re a campus ambassador, you are given challenges to complete and by completing these tasks, you are rewarding with points that you can redeem at the end of the semester. I had a good amount of points added up so I decided to get some stickers and a random pack of two shirts.

I text Emily asking if she wanted to meet up and shoot one of the shirts along with the blue plane hat I have had hanging in my closet. We meet up at Woodward park and took a few photos that turned out great! The fact that I get to partner with such an amazing brand makes modeling for them easy and fun. The Elephant Pants

A wonderful organization with an even more amazing cause. This brand popped up on the side of my Facebook one day in an advertisement so I decided to click on it and I am sure glad I did. You may recognize the name, well, that’s because The Elephant Pants were on Shark Tank! I want to tell you more about their cause and why I decided to partner with this brand.

Their Mission:

Their mission is “Save Elephants. Feel Good.” And that’s exactly what they do! The company was founded in 2014 where two friends saw the exploitation of elephants around the world and made a mission to help save them through producing pants. “Producing pants?” You might be questioning this in your head right now and be a little confused. These pants, shorts, and more apparel are the most comfortable and stylish items that you have ever worn with proceeds going to an amazing cause.

Why They Care:

I couldn’t say this any better than how they addressed it on their website so I’m just going to copy and paste their exact words for you to read. “It’s estimated that there were once 7-10 million African elephants roaming the African Continent while around 200,000 Asian elephants lived in the forests and grasslands of Southern Asia. Sadly, due to habitat loss and human conflict, both of these populations have dwindled severely. From 2010 to 2012 alone, an estimated 100,000 elephants were poached for ivory. That’s essentially one elephant loss every 15 minutes—a 50 percent decline in population in the past 35 years. There are roughly 470,000 African Elephants left in the wild and less than 40,000 Asian elephants. The high rate of elephant deaths combined with their incredibly long gestation period (22 months) could lead to a world without wild elephants by 2050. With people being the #1 cause of this steady population decline, we feel that it is our duty to do what we can to bring it to an end. Together, we can create a sustainable future where elephants thrive.”
