Wales

October 6th // Cardiff, Wales

Another day, another adventure. Check Wales off the bucket list! My total country count is now at eight: Mexico, Canada, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, London, and now Wales.

We started our adventure by taking a three and a half hour bus ride into Cardiff where we dropped off our bags at our beautiful Airbnb as seen above.

We then took an Uber into the city where I couldn’t help but take a photo of my first time in a car on the opposite side of the road. It felt weird that the driver sat on the right side of the car and that we were driving on the left side of the street. The Uber dropped us off by the docks where there was lots of shops and restaurants.

We wandered around the area for a little, stopping at a cute coffee shop and talking before we ended up seeing the most beautiful sunset I have laid my eyes on.

After we admired God’s beauty for over half an hour, we began to notice that our bodies were freezing and that we should head inside soon. This is when we stumbled upon a comedy club called The Glee Club where we laughed our heads off and enjoyed the night.

October 7th // Cardiff Wales

Morning coffee and a cute cafe was the perfect start to the morning (Check out my posts “Stag Coffee” and “Bill’s Restaurant” under the Travel –> Study Abroad –> Foreign Eats section of my blog for more details).

Next, we headed to the Cardiff Castle to check it out, however, it ended up being ten pounds to go inside, and being poor college students, we just had to look from afar. IMG_8698

For a free event, we went to the National Museum Cardiff where they had all different forms of art including photography, sculptures, paintings, etc. Check out some of my favorite pieces from this gallery below!

We continued to walk around the small city and take in it’s beauty before departing back to London. Thank you for letting us visit you Wales, you will be missed.

Pura Vida Bracelets

August 16

As you may know, or not know, I have been working hard for the past two years on my modeling career. This can be hard since I am a full time student and work, however, I have decided to make modeling a priority in my life and not stop until I have accomplished what I set out to do. I get backlash from people who say that I’ll never make it or that I’m just an “Instagram model”, but what I’m doing is bigger than just me. I am trying to change the modeling industry and promote woman empowerment through all different races, sizes, and height. I could go on and on about my mission and purpose, but I will let you read the post “My Story.” in the modeling section of my blog for more information on that.

I truly believe social media can be used for a good purpose, however, it can also be used with bad intentions. I have set out to use my social media platforms to promote self-love and remind everyone of how special they are. This being said, I use my Instagram and Facebook half for life updates and the other half to show my art through modeling to the world. When I first began uploading modeling photos, I felt foolish posting photos of just myself and worried about what other’s thought about my appearance. I was quickly reminded by my friends and family why I was doing this and pushed through my fear of backlash. It wasn’t until a couple months of posting that I began to hear from brands and companies. People in charge of marketing and ambassador programs reached out via direct message on Instagram taking interest in how we could partner together. This was just the beginning. For more information on my partnerships, ambassador programs, and more, check out my other articles titled “Hashtag Sunglasses”, “Serengetee”, “Sand Cloud”, “Karma Bikinis”, “Serengetee Part II”, “The Elephant Pants”, and more under the “Modeling” section of my blog.

A couple weeks ago, I got a message on Instagram from @puravidabracelets from Diana who is part of their Social Media team. She wrote me wondering if I’d be interested in receiving a care package from them. I emailed her right away saying I was more than happy to receive a care package and partner with them. I chose some of my favorite bracelets and in a week, I had a package at my door step from Pura Vida. I called up my friend Emily Hinch and told her we needed to shoot these bracelets right away. But I wanted it to be special and scenic. We made a plan and drove up to Yosemite before the sun rose to get the best shots. The view was absolutely breath taking. Standing at the edge of the cliff, you could see the sun creeping up the back of half dome while listening to the gust of the waterfalls flowing. What a perfect spot to take photos of Pura Vida Bracelets, capturing the uniqueness and beauty of the products.

Thank you to Pura Vida for this opportunity and partnership! Be sure to shop for your rings, bracelets, necklaces and more at their website https://www.puravidabracelets.com and join their monthly club for just $14.95 a month where you will receive 3 exclusive bracelets delivered to your door!

Pura Vida’s Story can be found at https://www.puravidabracelets.com/pages/story. I highly suggest reading it and seeing how two friends made this dream of theirs into a reality!

The Elephant Pants

August 16

A wonderful organization with an even more amazing cause. This brand popped up on the side of my Facebook one day in an advertisement so I decided to click on it and I am sure glad I did. You may recognize the name, well, that’s because The Elephant Pants were on Shark Tank! I want to tell you more about their cause and why I decided to partner with this brand.

Their Mission:

Their mission is “Save Elephants. Feel Good.” And that’s exactly what they do! The company was founded in 2014 where two friends saw the exploitation of elephants around the world and made a mission to help save them through producing pants. “Producing pants?” You might be questioning this in your head right now and be a little confused. These pants, shorts, and more apparel are the most comfortable and stylish items that you have ever worn with proceeds going to an amazing cause.

Why They Care:

I couldn’t say this any better than how they addressed it on their website so I’m just going to copy and paste their exact words for you to read. “It’s estimated that there were once 7-10 million African elephants roaming the African Continent while around 200,000 Asian elephants lived in the forests and grasslands of Southern Asia. Sadly, due to habitat loss and human conflict, both of these populations have dwindled severely. From 2010 to 2012 alone, an estimated 100,000 elephants were poached for ivory. That’s essentially one elephant loss every 15 minutes—a 50 percent decline in population in the past 35 years. There are roughly 470,000 African Elephants left in the wild and less than 40,000 Asian elephants. The high rate of elephant deaths combined with their incredibly long gestation period (22 months) could lead to a world without wild elephants by 2050. With people being the #1 cause of this steady population decline, we feel that it is our duty to do what we can to bring it to an end. Together, we can create a sustainable future where elephants thrive.”

How They Help

They partner with other organizations that share similar interests in saving and protecting elephants. Their current partner right now is “Tusk” that supports and connects the people providing the most promising solutions to the iris facing Africa’s wildlife. I could go on and on about this brand and their mission to combat the exploitation of elephants, but I will let you explore their website for yourself. Be sure to buy some pants, shorts, tops, and more at this website- https://www.theelephantpants.com

Karma Bikinis

August 16

First I would like to thank Faeln for taking these photos and for letting me always drag her to the beach to do shoots. You are the greatest and most supportive friend girl.

Aren’t these swim suits the cutest and one of a kind?! Well to add to that, they are also comfortable and make me feel so confident. What’s even BETTER is that my friend Julienne Worring and her sister are the founders and creators of Karma Bikinis. But wait… it gets better. “Inspired by their combined passions for ocean conservation and the need for unique adjustable, fair trade pieces came our swimwear line with a commitment to donate 7% of all proceeds to ocean conservation efforts,” is read from their “About” article on their website. So not only are the bikinis unique, comfortable, stylist, but the proceeds are also donated to help ocean conservation.

Julienne reached out and asked me if I’d like to be a brand ambassador and I replied with a YES in a heartbeat. Brands like these that truly care about their clients and also think about giving back to organizations in need are the one’s I love to partner with. I mean how could you not?!

To buy your Karma Bikinis, read more about their story, mission, blogs, trends, and more, visit their website at https://karma-bikinis.com.
