Coffee, Cupcakes, & Airport Food

August 30th // Chicago, Illinois 

Lots of walking and traveling calls for vegan cupcakes, toast with hummus, a soy mocha, and a Mexican bowl. Molly’s cupcakes was actually on Cupcake War’s where they won the season finale! I got a chocolate vegan cupcake that I later ate in Lincoln Park while watching dogs pass by. For lunch I had toast with hummus paired with an iced soy latte from Colectivo Coffee which was filling and appetizing! Lastly, I had a tortas bowl from Rick Bay’s restaurant in the airport while waiting for my flight to Iceland (I can’t find exactly what I got on the menu but it had rice, beans, spinach, radish, avocado, tomatoes, and some sort of sauce). To be honest, I am getting so hungry writing this! All meals / snacks were vegan!

Philz Coffee

August 26th // Huntington Beach, California 

While waiting for Fae to finish getting her hair done, I explored a little area of Huntington Beach and found this cute, popping coffee shop. Since the line was out the door, I assumed the coffee was good and decided to give it a try. I got a hot mocha tessera made with soy milk, dark chocolate, caramel, and cocoa which sparked my taste buds. The staff was also very friendly and lively. When you order, you walk up and talk to your barista who will make you sure you order and receive exactly what you want. I highly recommend trying it for either coffee and tea if you don’t mind waiting a couple minutes!
